Brief Bio

At the intersection of folk, rock, pop, country, and blues is where you are mostly likely to find Mark Jewett. Musical diversity has been a constant throughout his life in both listening habits and performing. When he discovered an ability to write songs later in life, it was no different.

Phase 1 of Mark's musical life was spent playing bass and singing harmonies in numerous bands, logging in excess of 500 performances. Covering genres ranging from British Invasion to Motor City Roots Rock to Progressive Arena Rock to Country, he always held a place in his listening rotation for singer/songwriters. Inspired by the likes of Jackson Browne, JD Souther, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Paul Simon, Warren Zevon and Randy Newman, it was no surprise that when he caught the songwriting bug, he was headed in that direction.

Phase 2 of Mark's musical life finds him writing and performing most often as a solo act, but equally comfortable in duo, trio and full band lineups.
